Day 1: Start your tour of Oman expedition from Muscat. Driving west to Barka, visit the souq and the fish market, then heading south to the Oasis of Nakhl. Here you will visit Nakhl Fort and the hot spring. Next travels across the mountains to Wadi Bani Awf (walk and swim in the wadi). Travel across narrow winding road through the Western Hajar Mountains to the fascinating hidden village of Balad Sayt, then to our hotel at the top of Sharaf Al Alamayn Mountain 2000m. Stay at a mountain Hotel.
Day 2: Continue our tour after breakfast; we will drive to Al Hamra town. Here we visit Bait Al Safa – a traditional Omani house where you will see how Omanis used to live. Also visit the beautiful old village of Misfah. From here we will continue our travel to the peak of Jebel Shams – the Mountain of the Sun, which is the highest peak of Al Hajar Mountains Chain, soaring more than 3,000 meters above sea level. Here we will stay at a mountain resort and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of being at the very top of Oman.
Day 3: In the morning we can do few hours walk along the cliff face of Jabal Shams – known as the "Jabal Shams Rim Walk". From here we continue our travel to Al Ain Village and visit the ancient bee-hive tombs. Also we visit Wadi Dhum (also spelt Damm) to enjoy walking and swimming in crystal clear water. After this we drive through the Town of Bahla where we will see Bahla Fort which considered the oldest and biggest fort in Oman. From here continue to Nizwa, the ancient capital of Oman and stay in a hotel.
Day 4: Commencing our tour of Oman in the morning, we visit the traditional Nizwa Souq where there will be an opportunity to purchase and see many traditional Omani things. Next we will travel to the golden Wahiba Desert. At Wahiba you will experience 4-W Driving on the sand dunes. Also we visit a local Bedouin family to experience their traditional lifestyle. Experiencing the sunset at the top of the Wahiba dunes is inspiring. Stay at a traditional permanent camp.
Day 5: Today we start a journey which will take you across the magnificent Wahiba Sands. Travelling across the sands from north to south, you will spend the next hours in a heightened state of exhilaration as you experience rolling sand dunes, varying from deep red to a rich honey color, stretching as far as the eye can see. The spectacular landscape of the Wahiba Sands is visually sensational and the experience of the crossing offers both excitement and a great sense of achievement. Arriving to the Arabian Sea at the fishing village of Qihayd, where the dunes meet with the ocean. Set our camp at Ras Al Ruways and enjoying the refreshing swim with the background of Wahiba Sands Dunes.
Day 6: More adventure awaits you today. Heading south to Shanna; here we will take a ferry to Masirah Island. Check-in at our hotel as we arrive to the main village of the island Ras Hilf. After lunch we will explore the island, which is 70km long, and 20km wide, you will enjoy the unspoiled long white sand beaches. we will have ample time for pleasant swimming in the sea. Also the island is a paradise for birdwatchers, over 330 species of birds recorded in the island and a great place for giant sea turtle nesting, also known for unusual unique shells.
Day 7: After breakfast, we will take the ferry back to the main land and continue to Muhut then to the beautiful beach of Al Khaluf. Again you will enjoy the spectacular white sand beach. After this we will travel to the port town of Duqm. Visit the amazing Rock Garden; you will admire the art work of nature and be amazed with shapes of sand stones and lime stones. From here we will continue south towards the striking white cliffs of Ras Madrakah and Ras Markaz. Set our camp on a sandy beach.
Day 8: Our coastal drive continue by travelling past the magnificent pink lagoons of Al Kahil, then on to Ras Sawqrah, Shalim and the fishing village of Shuwayamiah, from here we will continue our driving to the spectacular Wadi Shuwayamiah with its dramatic vertical cliffs of white limestone. Stay the night at a permanent camp at the beach of Shuwayamiah and enjoy the natural contrast of the white beaches and deep blue sea.
Day 9: Continue our tour and drive through the coastal road and into Dhofar Mountains; you will find the views from the cliffs are breath-taking and you can see the frankincense trees on the mountains side. Arriving to the fishing villages of Hasik and Sadah, then continue on to the beautiful town of Mirbat. At Mirbat we will check-in at our hotel before exploring the town.
Day 10: Today after breakfast we continue on the coastal road then into the mountains to explore Jabal Samhan Nature Reserve the view from top of the mountain spectacular. Also we will visit the sink hole at Tawi Atayr and Wadi Darbat. From here we will drive on to the historical port of Samhurum (Khor Rori) which dates back to 100BC. After visiting the ruins of Samhurum and its museum we will continue to Taqah and visit the beautiful castle of Taqah. From here we drive to our final destination of today the magnificent city of Salalah and check-in at our hotel.
Day 11: After the breakfast, we can visit more tourist attractions you are most interested in seeing around Salalah. Which offering the visitors an enormous variety of things to see and do. The natural beauty of the surrounding area is breath-taking; the dramatic mountains reaching right to the edge of the Arabian Sea. You will have the opportunity to experience beaches as Maghsayl, Jabal Al Qamar and al Fazayh Beach. Wadis and springs as Ain Razat There are also many historical sites of interest including the ruins of Al Baleed, Land of Frankincense Museum, Nabi Ayoup Tomb and Al Hafa Souq.
Day 12: Free day at Salalah City.
Day 13: Continuing the tour of Dhofar Region. leaving Salalah City and drive through Dhofar Mountains to the Natural Park of Frankincense Trees Wadi Dawkah after short visit continue to Thumrayt, then we will take the road to visit Shisr - known as Atlantis of the Sands and the lost city of Ubar, researchers speculate that the city may have been the earliest known shipping center for frankincense. Continue on to the edge of the Empty Quarter Desert - Stay at a traditional desert camp surrounded with sand dunes.
Day 14: In the morning after breakfast, we will drive through the sand dunes of Um Al Hayat sands in Ar Rub Al Khali Desert to Dawkah by the road; it’s an exciting drive through the sands dunes, as we hit the road we will continues north by Qatbit and Muqshin to Al Ghaftayn, where we will stay overnight at a hotel by the highway.
Day 15: Start our journey in morning and travel by the highway through desert landscape to Hayma. Stop at Hayma to buy lunch for our next picnic stop. Commencing our journey north to Umm Al Zamayim Sand where we will enjoy our picnic lunch at these beautiful dunes. From here we will head east toward Hijj village and stay the overnight at a hotel.
Day 16: Today we drive on the coastal road and through many fishing villages of Qurun, Al Ashkharah, Asila and Ad Daffah on the Arabian Sea. There will be time to stop and enjoy the long beaches. Continue to Ras Al Hadd where we will stay overnight in beach resort. Later in the night we will drive to Ras al Jinz Scientific Centre; Ras al Jinz is one of the few nesting places of the giant green sea turtle and you will have a guided tour to see these majestic creatures come ashore and lay their eggs by the light of the stars.
Day 17: After breakfast, more adventure await for you on your last day of Oman tour experience. commencing our travel to the ancient seafaring township of Sur. Sur is where the traditional wooden Omani Dhows are made. Also it features many fine old homes with carved doors. Continue along the coastal road to Tiwi village and to the famous Wadi Shab, we will hike and swim in Wadi Shab. You will have the opportunity to swim through a pond of crystal clear water and swim through a narrow keyhole, surfacing inside a magnificent cave. After enjoying this wadi we will travel to Bama Sinkhole for a quick visit. From here we commence our drive back to Muscat. Our beloved Oman will become for you an unforgettable, inspiring and magnificent memory forever.
